One autumn afternoon, Hannah gets a call from Rachel asking if she would like to join her, Tina, and Jo for a little shopping at the mall. Hannah agrees and tells Paul about it. Paul decides to invite Bradley and Jon over to their place to watch the football game to keep him company. A few hours later, Racheal shows up in her car with Tina and Jo.
Hannah: "Ok they're here, I'm off."
Paul: "Alright dear, have a good time."
Hannah: "By the way, when are Bradley and Jon showing up?"
Paul: "Oh they should be here any minute."
Hannah: "Right then."
They kiss each other goodbye and Hannah is on her way out the door. As she's getting in the car, Paul waves to the other girls. They wave back and are soon on their way. Moments later, they pass Jon and Bradley in Jon's car on the way by and they all wave to each other. Jon and Bradley soon pull into Paul and Hannah's driveway.
Paul: "Hey guys, come on in."
Jon: "Hi Paul."
Bradley: "Hi Paul."
Jon: "When does the game start?"
Paul: "Should be any minute now I think."
Paul: "Well have a seat, help yourself to the snacks I put out on the table
for us while I go get some drinks."
Jon and Bradley go to sit down on the couch. After awhile, things are going pretty well during the game until Paul decides to go the loo. Meanwhile, Jon and Bradley are still watching the game, that is until Bradley decides to let out a stretch and accidently knocks over a vase sitting on the entable that eventually winds up on the floor into a million large pieces. Jon sees what happened and is shocked at what Bradley just did.
Jon: "You hoof!!"
Bradley: "It was an accident! I didn't mean to!"
Moments later, Paul comes out of the loo wondering what had just smashed and sees both Bradley and Jon picking up the piece's of the vase. Needless to say, he is shocked at what he sees.
Paul: (gasping in shock)
Bradley: "Paul, I can explain."
Paul:"Well go on then Bradley, explain!"
Bradley: "Well while you were in the loo, I let out a stretch and accidently
hit the vase with my arm and it fell over."
Jon: "It's true Paul, I saw him do it."
Paul: "Bradley, do you have any idea where this vase came from??"
Bradley: "Well no of course not, how could I?"
Paul: "This vase, Bradley, was something Hannah had inherited from her late
grandmother. If she found out what happened to it, she'd never forgive me."
Jon: "Well one thing's for sure, we got to get this fixed before the girls
get back."
Bradley: "What about the game?"
Jon: "Bradley, what is more important?? The game, or this vase you just
broke??"
Paul: "I do know one thing, Hannah is going to freak when she finds out
about this."
Jon: "Paul, just relax, it's nothing a little glue can't fix. By the way do
you have any?"
Paul: "Yeah I think so."
Paul rushes into the kitchen and starts looking through all the drawer's to see if there is any glue available. He finds some and comes back into the living room to join the guys.
Paul: "Ok, let's get it on the table here and we'll all glue it together."
Jon and Bradley: "Right."
And so, piece by piece, Jon and Bradley do their best to fix the vase and get it back to it's normal position. Moments later, the phone rings. And who should be calling on her cell phone, but Hannah herself.
Paul (answering the phone): "Hello? Oh, hi Hannah. Yeah everything is going fine here. Oh yes, the guys and I are really enjoying the game. How's your day with the girls going? That's good."
Hannah: Well anyways, the girls and I are going to do a bit more shopping than we'll head home."
Paul: "Really, are you going to be very long?"
Hannah: "I dunno, maybe an hour or so why?"
Paul: "Oh no reason, I just wondered is all."
Hannah: "Well we won't be too much longer I know that."
Paul: "Right then, I guess I'll see you soon."
Hannah: "Ok bye."
Paul hangs up the phone and stands there in disbelief.
Jon: "What is it?"
Paul: Guys, we gotta get this vase put back together. Hannah and the girls
are going to be in an hour probably she said."
Bradley and Jon: "Uh oh."
Paul: "We gotta get a move on."
Jon: "Right then."
So with that, the guys work as fast as they can to get this vase put back together. After alot of hard work, the vase is back in it's normal upright position without showing any signs that it had been smashed. Meanwhile, Hannah is concerned about the way Paul was speaking to her over the phone.
Hannah: "You know what's strange?"
Tina: "What's that?"
Hannah: "Well, when I was just talking to Paul on my cell, the way he
speaking to me it was almost as if something bad had happened and he didn't
want to let on about it."
Jo: "Oh I wouldn't worry about it Hannah, I'm sure it's nothing."
Hannah: "Well still, it's a little strange don't you think?"
Racheal, Tina and Jo: (shrugging their shoulders)
Meanwhile at home....
Paul: "Now remember guys, nothing happened right?"
Bradley and Jon: "Right."
Paul: "We just sat here and enjoyed the game right?"
Bradley and Jon: "Right."
Paul: "Right then."
Bradley: "Just one thing Paul."
Paul: "What's that Bradley?"
Bradley: "I can't tell you how sorry I am for what happened. Like I said, it
was an accident."
Paul: "Forget it Bradley. One day we'll look back on this, and laugh.
However I would suggest we all keep this between the 3 of us."
Jon: "Oh absolutely."
Bradley: "Definitely."
And so, the guys enjoyed the rest of the game right up until Hannah walked in the door.
Hannah: "Hey guys."
Jon and Bradley: "Hi Hannah."
Paul: "How did the shopping go dear?"
Hannah: "Oh, ok I guess. We didn't do much, just bought some CD's and shoes
is all."
Just then, Hannah notices something odd about her vase.
Hannah: "Hey, what happened to my vase?"
Jon and Bradley: (look at each other, then run out of the house immediately leaving Paul to offend for himself)
Hannah: "Paul? Is there something you want to tell me?"
Paul: "What do you mean dear?"
Hannah: "What do I mean? Look at my vase! It looks like someone had knocked
it over and glued it back together again!"
Paul: "Alright I'll tell you. While I was in the loo, Bradley let out a
stretch and accidently knocked it off the entable."
Hannah: "He what??!"
Paul: "It was an accident Hannah. He didn't mean to."
Hannah: "Well, I guess it doesn't look too bad. Is that why you were acting
so strange over the phone earlier?"
Paul: "Fraid so. I knew you'd be upset if you found out bieng that it was
grandmother's and all."
Hannah: "Well at least the super glue is holding it together. You did use
the super glue right?"
Paul: "Well yeah, course. It took the 3 of us to get it back together you
know."
So with that, all was forgiven and Paul didn't have to worry about Hannah being mad at him. She did however decide to put the vase in a much safer spot where it wouldn't get knocked over again.
The End.
