At Bertrams Hotel ( 2007 )

image At Bertram’s Hotel is the latest Marple drama for ITV1 which looks at murders in a top London hotel that happen as the will of a multi-millionaire is read. This is the third of four new Marple films the network has commissioned, and follows on from Towards Zero and Nemesis. At Bertram’s Hotel has been adapted from Agatha Christie’s original by Doctor Who writer Tom MacRae and will be produced by Karen Thrussell.

Christie remains the most popular novelist in history, with her work being published in 50 languages in over 70 countries and more than two billion of her books sold to date.

LWT began broadcasting Agatha Christie’s Poirot in 1989 and the BBC was previously the producer of the Miss Marple dramas.

Miss Marple finds herself on a bit of a holiday and staying at the very posh Bertram's Hotel, where she stayed as a child and for which she has very fond memories. Things take a sinister turn when a hotel maid, Tilly Rice, is found strangled on the roof. Miss Marple can't help but investigate but is assisted by Jane Cooper, also a hotel maid, who is in fact a younger version of Miss Marple. When an attempt is made on the life of a hotel guest, Elvira Blake the two Janes work together to find the motive and the identity of the killer.
