Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special

Strictly Come Dancing returns to add a bit more sparkle this Christmas in a special festive edition of the show.
Strictly favourites from series past – Austin Healey, Gethin Jones and Rachel Stevens – are back performing versions of their iconic dances, and they battle it out against three of the celebrity dancers from the current series for the title of Strictly Christmas Champions.
Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly present and Strictly judges Craig Revel Horwood, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and head judge Len Goodman will be on hand to give their verdicts on the competing couples.

Rachel back to studio next year!

I want to hear the official word but yay, this is so good!

I caught up with the lovely Rachel Stevens at Take That's PlayStation 3 SingStar game launch, and she revealed she's ready to get back to her one true love. Rachel told me: "I love music - that's my main passion in life so I'm going to head back into the studio and start working on new music next year. I've had a nice break from recording and I'm ready to get back to what I truly love doing." It was just a shame that while I nattered to Rachel, London's notoriously worst-dressed party person and cling-on to the stars, Fran Cutler, decided to throw me out of the VIP area midconversation.

Dancing's made me dirtier

She scores a perfect ten posing in her skimpies for these hot shots - after waltzing off with a Girl of the Decade gong from the lads' mag FHM. Former SClub7 singer Rachel, 30, says we have her role on last year's Strictly Come Dancing - partnering Vincent Simone - to thank for her saucy fancy-pants poses. The beauty said: "I was probably in the best shape of my life. There's no greater exercise for man nor woman to get you in shape.

Rachel first graced the mag in 2000 and said she was stunned to be asked to pose then because she didn't think she was hot enough. "It was really flattering," she said. Ashjcroft is the weakest link

A LOCAL councillor has failed in his bid to prove he was the strongest link when he appeared on a hit television show last night.
Conservative councillor Phil Ashcroft, who represents Hulton ward, was a contestant on BBC’s The Weakest Link, but was voted off the show in the second round after tripping up on a music question about singer Rachel Stevens.
Cllr Ashcroft, he has been a DJ for more than 20 years, said: “Anne Robinson asked me which ex-S Club singer had hits with More More More and Sweet Dreams my LA Ex? As she said it, I was thinking ‘it’s Rachel, Rachel’. My mind just went black. I think it was the pressure. I was the first person to get an answer wrong so I stuck in their minds.

Exclusive: Interview with Tina

I got to make an exclusive interview with Tina with questions you sent in. I chose 10 that I thought were the best, there were so many music&album related ones that I had to do some limiting there. As you can see I saved 2 questions for myself, I think the shoe-bag question was very important :P Enjoy and check out Tina's MySpace.

1. My question is when is your album coming out, what kind of music can we hear from this album? Satinna, 28, USA
I haven't got a set date for my album yet but it will be released next year. The style is soul funk pop and it's a reflection of the music that's close to my heart you will definitely see a different side of me reborn as a performer and a song writer.

2. Where can you get the idea of writing a song on your own? Blanica, 17 Hungary
I started writing poetry from the age of about seven just for fun it's something i've always been really into. Growing up i would write as a release it was like therapy especially through my teens right up to now. When i joined the band i started writing songs and from then on i couldn't stop.

3. Do you have any pets? Blanica, 17, Hungary
I love animals i really want a dog the golden retriever is my fave so sweet. i did have a cat once called Weebal but had to give him away because i was always on tour with the band. I was so sad giving him away i cried.

4. We (tour fans) are looking foward to hear from you, so are you planning to come back to the music?? Cuz your demos are great! Florencia, 21, Argentina
Yes yes yes i'm still doing music and i also have tv and film projects that i'm also working on. My solo album will be released next year and the demos on my myspace are a little taster for you. But on the album there will be some real party tracks so get ready to shake it, own it , all that ha ha !

5. You live in London but what is your favourite city in the world? James, 18, UK
My favourite city apart from home London has to be New York i love the place the clubs, restaurants, broadway musicals it's got such a energy to it plus i have lots of family there so i've been quite a lot. It really is a place where you feel that anything can happen.

6. What is your favourite tv-show? Liz, 17, UK
My favourite tv show at the moment is True Blood it's so gripping.

7. You were the best dancer in the 7, do you still dance? Amy, 20, USA
I do still dance and yes you will be seeing me doing choreography as i have a very exciting project i've been developing which is dance based. so watch this space!

8. Who has inspired you the most, musically? Angela, 21, Germany
Prince is my biggest inspiration he is a genius.

9. Which do you love the best, shoes or bags? Saara, 20, Finland
That's a tough one er shoes.

Introducing Tina Barrett: Solo Star!

Tina Barrett will be known to millions of Britains as a member of top pop group S Club 7. The group were responsible for some of our best known pop songs, including ‘Reach’, ‘S Club Party’, and ‘Bring It All Back’. The group sold over 13 million records, won several Brit Awards, and even appeared in their own T.V. series and feature film. Previous to this, the singer-songwriter trained as a Ballerina, and has since put her dance training to good use choreographing for the band. She has also worked and performed with the National Ballet, and pop artists like Shola Ama and Simply Red.
While her name may have faded from a few memories, thanks to a spell out of the limelight, it won’t be that way for long, as Tina Barrett is back, and raring to go, as a solo singer. Jumping right in at the deep end, her first solo outing will take place at none other than the Royal Albert Hall! The Born Free Wild and Live concert will take place on November 14th, and will feature a whole host of top names, such as Bryan Adams and Gabriella Climi. If you’re not able to make the concert, then have no fear, as Tina also has a new album coming soon! She’s been busy holed up in the studio with producers responsible for hits from the likes of Pixie Lott, The Sugababes, and Ginuwine. There’s also been talk of a TV program and film for 2010. All in all, things are looking up for Tina Barrett, and she very much hopes you’ll be a part of it.

S Club 7 star to launch solo career

Former S Club 7 singer Tina Barrett has been confirmed to appear at the Born Free Wild & Live charity show on November 14. The 33-year-old, who enjoyed eleven Top 5 singles with the pop band, will perform a track from her upcoming solo album at the Royal Albert Hall in London. "It's been marinating for a while and now it's just about ready! Yes I'm very excited to announce I will be performing a track from my solo album for the very first time, no S Club 7 - just me! " she wrote on her blog.
Barrett has posted three songs on her MySpace page called 'I'll Be Your Woman', 'Blow My Mind' and 'Satisfy Me'. S Club 7 stars Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole reformed last year as a three-piece and performed a number of live dates across the UK. Peter Andre and Mutya Buena were recently confirmed to perform a collaboration at the event, which aims to raise money to help protect wild animals and alleviate the suffering of those in captivity.

Hello everyone,
Sorry it's been a while since i've written a blog but i wanted to wait for something worth talking about and boy it's a goody. It's been marinating for a while and now it's just about ready! Yes i'm very excited to announce i will be performing a track from my solo album for the very first time no S Club 7 just me! live at the Born Free charity event, Wild and Live at the Royal Albert Hall. It's for a great cause and lots of different artists are performing including a peronal fav Bryan Adams.
So come down it's gonna be a fun night we'll have a dance

Tina confirms the Albert Hall gig

I spoke to Tina today and she confirmed the gig at the Albert Hall It's really exciting I will be singing my first solo single since sclub7. She'll tell more details tomorrow on her MySpace so get ready for that.

She also said she'd love to do the interview, yay! So please send your questions, I just decided I'll choose about 10 and send them on Friday. Tina to perform in Born Free Wild and Live Event

I've posted lots of interesting news today but this is probably the best. I got an e-mail from Eleanor Hedges, the PR Assistant of Born Free Foundation and she had some interesting news to me. Tina will perform in Born Free Wild and Live event on November 14th at Royal Albert Hall! How amazing is that? The event aims to raising funds to help save the lives of 25,000 wild animals, stop suffering, rescue individuals and protect rare species. Jon in Cinderella play

Speculation over Dancing On Ice contestants

Tina's name is linked to Dancing On Ice contestants, notice this isn't the official line up. She has confirmed the negotiations though, fingers crossed it'll work well for us.

The Dancing On Ice 2010 Line Up and Betting Odds have been released by Boylesports bookmakers. They have added all the names that have been linked with Strictly Come Dancing 2010 in the press and it is highly likely a large share of them will take part.
Former Gladiator And An S Club 7 Member Amongst Favourites
The early favourite for Boylesports is former Olympic swimming Champion and former Gladiator Sharron Davies, she is rated 5/1 with Boylesports. Former S Club 7 stars are not shy about going on reality TV shows and Tina Barrett could be the latest to take part, she is 6/1 to win Strictly Come Dancing 2010 and her previous Dancing experience will help her, hopefully she can skate! --
