With rumours that Cheryl Cole could refuse to sign her The X Factor contract if former Spice Girl Mel B gets to stand in for pregnant Dannii Minogue, a new star has thrown her hat into the ring for the post. Former S Club Seven singer Rachel Stevens has admitted that she'd love the gig, according to Now magazine.
She told the publication that she would jump at the chance to work as a reality TV judge and said that The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent really appeal to her. The star admitted that she gets judgmental sitting at home watching the shows and that she would love to be part of a judging panel that helps unearth the next big act.
A runner up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, Rachel suggested that there's no way she'd consider getting on the other side of the table and competing again so soon. The 32-year-old, who herself is pregnant, admitted that such a venture does not appeal to her at the moment as she wants to go in other directions.
As well as being a member of S Club Seven, she also forged a fairly successful solo career, releasing songs such as Sweet Dreams My LA Ex.

Rachel wants to be a Bond girl

The former S Club 7 singer is currently working on her new solo album, but would much rather become an actress. Rachel is currently pregnant with her first child but once she returns to work she has a long list of roles she would like to play. At the top of that list is one of the British spy’s sexy lovers.
“I’d absolutely love to be a Bond girl,” she gushed. “That would be amazing! I think I’ll start spreading that rumour around so that I’m in with a chance. All that action and sexy costumes – it would be so much fun.” However, if she won the role, the 32-year-old singer would not like to share the screen with current Bond actor Daniel Craig. Instead, she wants to star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, who she thinks would make an excellent secret agent. “My James Bond would have to be Leonardo DiCaprio because he’s such a good actor and he’s not bad looking either, which helps,” she told the British edition of OK! magazine.

Rachel sightseeing in Marrakesh

Here's Rachel's new Braun blog from Marrakesh and a few new pictures. A note to Rachel fans, there is so much news at the moment that I probably won't post it all here so make sure you also check Lovely Rachel.

22 May Well I’ve been keeping up my swimming laps and my legs are still feeling great! Makes getting ready in the mornings so much quicker. In fact they’re getting browner which always helps. My bikini and kaftans are all Melissa Odabash. I love her designs!! I always go there to get my holiday wear, she also does great accessories. Yesterday we went to the gardens of Marrakech called Jardin Majorelle..really peaceful, tranquil gardens. Interestingly Yves Saint Laurent had a memorial there - I have taken a picture for you to see. Then we got taken around the New Town and the Old Town of Marrakech. We were shown the seven doors, where the King lived. We even saw the Prime Minister drive past. We then went shopping and bought lots of candles, incense and some gifts for the family...even did some good bartering! We visited a place where they made carpets and I joined in, apparently it can take months to make just one carpet. Later on that day we saw snake charmers..I chickened out having it around my neck :) Last night we went to La Mamounia for dinner in the French restaurant where they filmed Sex in the City 2!! There was also a jazz singer playing in the Churchill bar. It was very 1930s..dark,sexy, smoky. Highly recommended! Rachel xx

New Primeval pictures

SFX has some new picture of Primeval filming in Dublin. Looks like Hannah and Ben Mansfield (Captain Becker) were having a good time. There are also pictures of the newbies Ciaran McMenamin (Matt) and Ruth Kearney (Jess). The pictures are apparently taken outside the Gaiety Theatre.

She has had her fair share of relationship heartaches over the years. However, Rachel Stevens is celebrating today after announcing she is pregnant. The 32-year-old star – who married actor Alex Bourne last August – will welcome her first child into the world in November, her representative has confirmed. Her spokesperson said: ‘We are delighted to announce that Rachel Stevens and her husband Alex are expecting their first baby later this year. ‘The happy news comes just a few months before the couple will celebrate their first wedding anniversary.’
The 32-year-old singer added: ‘We are thrilled and so excited about becoming parents.’ Earlier this week, Rachel admitted she thought it would be “amazing” to have children with Alex. She said: ‘We’d absolutely love to have children. I think having children is the most amazing thing. ‘I don’t think I can tell what kind of mum I’d be until I go through it. It’s such a life-changing thing. ‘But I do have a little niece and nephew so I can just about change a nappy. Alex would be a great dad – he’s very hands-on.’
The news is expected to delay Stevens' plans for a pop comebeck She has not released an album since 2005's Come And Get It, but recently admitted that she was in the ‘early stages’ of recording a follow-up. Miss Stevens first shot to fame as part of S Club 7, the band put together by Spice Girls Svengali Simon Fuller. She then launched a relatively successful pop career securing hits with songs Sweet Dreams My L.A. Ex, Some Girls and More More More.
But in recent years, she has become as well known for her looks as her music –with the star regularly featuring in Sexiest Women In The World lists in men’s magazines. She also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, in which she came second with her partner Vincent Simone. More...John Travolta's wife Kelly Preston announces she's pregnant at 47 The singer and Bourne, also 32, married last August at Claridges’ Hotel in central London. However, none of her former S Club bandmates were invited to the ceremony. Dancing queen: Rachel Stevens and partner Vincent Simone appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008 She was previously engaged to former Hollyoaks actor Jeremy Edwards. He proposed on Valentine’s Day 2002 - but they broke up in 2004. Afterwards, Miss Stevens dated Gavin Dean, the son of former Arsenal vice-chairman David. She was also linked to US actor Stephen Dorff. She and Bourne started dating at the beginning of 2007 and he proposed in June 2008.

Singer, dancer and actor Jon Lee returns to TV screens in May playing a young man who is unexpectedly diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in Casualty.

A far cry from the chart topping days of S Club 7, Jon puts his acting credentials to the test in this thought provoking role where his character, Craig, has the difficult task of telling his girlfriend that he is suffering from an incurable, degenerative disease. LastBroadcast caught up with Jon to find out more...

Can you tell us a bit about your character in Casualty?
Craig is 25, he's a really easy going guy. He’s been with his girlfriend Alison for a couple of years and they are just moving in to their first place together when we first meet them. He thinks he’s quite cool, but is actually a bit of a nerd.

Did you do any research into Motor Neurone Disease for the role?
I’d heard of the disease before filming, but I didn’t really know any of the early symptoms or how drastically it effects your life in the long term. Your body basically begins to shut down but leaves your mind completely untouched so you are kind of a prisoner in your own body. I did some research on the internet before I started filming and there is also a team of professionals on set who can answer any questions you may have.

Did you enjoy filming in Bristol?
It was great filming in Bristol. To be fair I think I spent my wages before I’d finished filming, the shopping centre there is amazing! All in all I think I was there for about 2 weeks.

Are you a fan of the show?
Yes, I’m a fan of the show, it’s been on TV for as long as I can remember.

Which of the Casualty regulars did you have scenes with and what were they like to work with?
Most of my scenes were done with Zoe, played by Sunetra Sarker, who is lovely! We had a real laugh together. Everyone on set makes you feel very welcome, it’s a great environment to work in.

You had a regular role on EastEnders in the 90s as Clare Bates’ boyfriend - would you consider joining a soap as a regular again or do you prefer having the freedom of doing different types of jobs?
I love being able to change what I do all the time. Talking to the guys on Casualty I forgot how hard their schedule can be, especially when you have a big storyline. If I had to pick one soap to be in I think it would be back to Easties.

Do you miss your S Club 7 days and what are you memories of that time like?
The bits I can remember were amazing. It was all a bit of blur to be honest. I wouldn’t change it for the world though. It was a fantastic experience that took me all over the world doing what I love.

Are you still in touch with any of your former S Club 7 bandmates?
I still keep in touch with Hannah, she’s in Dublin at the moment filming the next season of Primeval, I’m so proud of her!

Are you doing a pantomime again this year? Did you enjoy playing Prince Charming in Cinderella last year?
I hope I’m doing panto again this year. I absolutely love it. Cinderella last year was one of the most enjoyable jobs I’ve ever done. So much fun and a fantastic cast.

Last film you saw at the cinema:
The last film I saw at the cinema was Clash Of The Titans, and I must say although it was still a good film I was a bit disappointed. I’m such a huge fan of the original.

Last TV show boxset you bought:
Just finished watching Dexter - I know I’m about 5 years behind! It was so good though!

Last album you bought:
Just downloaded Lady Gaga 'The Remix' album - I'm going to see her in concert on the 30th of May, can’t wait!

Rachel's Braun challenge

As posted earlier, Rachel blogs every day as a part of Braun Silk-épil 4 week challenge. Here's her first post. You can also visit the website here, there's a great video where she tells about the project.

It’s finally arrived, the first day of my Braun Silk-épil 4 week challenge! For those of you who do not know, Braun has challenged me to use the new Xpressive Pro eplilator and bare my legs everyday for 4 weeks. As the epilator is designed to remove hairs as short as a grain of sand, I will apparently have the freedom to reveal my pins everday, without having to worry about about those in-between days waiting for hair re-growth. I’m so glad I hit the high street last week to stock up on this season’s hottest leg-loving staples. My top purchases were a pair of denim shorts from Topshop, a gorgeous body con dress from Whistles, and a pair of cage sandals from Miss Selfridge…very Chloe! So today it’s all about preparing to bare. This morning I treated my toes to a splash of my favourite nail colour – the fresh, minty polish JADE by Chanel. With the weather being a little less ‘hot’ than my thigh-high hemlines, I’m also thinking about a touch of fake tan. My favourite product is St Tropez mixed with a bit of moisturiser for a lovely sun kissed glow. Make sure you sign up for alerts so you can follow me through my experience. One of the UK’s highest-profile fundraising events takes place in London next week and the celebrities will be out in force for the glamorous bash. British charity, Caudwell Children, stages their Butterfly Ball in the Capital every May and a host of A-List stars turn out to support the charity founded by billionaire philanthropist, John Caudwell.
Following the recent announcement that Brit singer, Robbie Williams, has joined the Charity’s growing list of celebrity Goodwill Ambassadors; it has been revealed that the exclusive guest list for the black tie event will include Bruce Forsyth, Elizabeth Hurley, Joan Collins, Dame Shirley Bassey, Louis Walsh, Penny Lancaster Stewart and a host of stars from stage, screen and sport. The Charity prides itself on the world-class entrainment on offer to its 1000 guests; with previous performances courtesy of Tina Turner, Whitney Houston and Rod Stewart.
This year the audience will be treated to an hour-long intimate performance from the biggest selling solo male artist of all time, Sir Elton John, who is attending with partner, David Furnish. Primeval in Finland

I never thought this day would come! Primeval is finally on Finnish television, yay! I know this is totally irrelevant to most of you but I'm so excited. It's on channel SuomiTV on Tuesdays at 20:15 (rerun on Saturdays 20:15). It's titled 'Primeval - Threat from the Past', Primeval would have been better but I'm not complaining. I just watched all the series again but this is going to totally different. Here's the website if anyone's interested.
